Batignolles
Tucked into the heart of a calm Parisian neighborhood, find home at Beaux Batignolles apartment.
A true haven of peace, the Batignolles district-village is located in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. Nestled between Épinettes and Monceau, the neighborhood has evolved a lot. However, it has retained the old charm since there are still Haussmann buildings or architectural monuments.
In the 5th century, the Batignolles district was attached to Clichy-la-Garenne. It then served as a hunting reserve for the great lords and the king. Its large forest was replaced by vineyard and agricultural lands that fed the Parisians and the population around Paris. Thirteen centuries later, the territory includes Montmartre, Ternes, and Monceau-Batignolles. Located outside Paris, the hamlet of Batignolles was not subject to the tax. The wine was cheaper than elsewhere,

so several cabarets and guinguettes settled there. In 1810, the territory had 500 inhabitants. 10 years later, investors decided to buy land in Monceau-Batignolles and build country houses. Capron, Boursault, Salneuve, Lemercier, Lacroix and Lécluse streets bear their names.
The territory has evolved over time and has aroused the curiosity of Parisians. Responding to the growth in traffic, a station was created in 1854, and several tunnels were dug to connect Batignolles with Saint-Lazare station. In 1860, Emperor Napoleon III announced the attachment of the commune of Batignolles to Paris. With 6,000 inhabitants, it then became the 17th arrondissement of the French capital.
This apartment is designed with families in mind (the owners have three kids), so it's comfortable and has a better-than-average selection of kitchen appliances. The reddish rocking chair in the living room was made with a 3D printer, and the owner used to sit in it to rock her children to sleep. It's a quiet building on a tree-lined street, just steps away from Square de Batignolles. With all rooms being directly off the entryway, bedrooms on the opposite side of the apartment, plus the separate toilet with a sink, it's also effortless for friends to share, and each have their own space.
