Hôtel des Deux Iles

Tucked away in the middle of an island in the heart of Paris is a little boutique hotel. She lives there sweetly, quietly, waiting for you to come and visit her.

Walking down Rue Saint-Louis en L'Ile, slipping past her unassuming front door would be easy. It almost looks like a private residence. But inside Hotel des Deux Îles is a secret paradise of calm and tranquility.

As you step through her front doors, the staff greet you with authentic, warm smiles. I have had the opportunity to get to know these special people who genuinely care about the property and their guests.

I am slightly obsessed with the green paint in the lobby, paired perfectly with the object d'art, custom wallpaper, an elegant bookcase, all oozing that je-ne-sais-quoi of typical Parisian coquetry.

What Makes This Place Special

The colors of Hôtel des Deux Îles marry the blue waters of the River Seine and the verdant green of Paris; it's an ideal haven for relaxing and enjoying life at your own pace. Yet, you can step out of the door and experience the buzz of the city. The Marais is on one side of the island, and the Latin Quarter and 5th arrondissement are on the other.

You might catch a glimpse of the owner passing through the lobby. The penultimate beautiful Parisian, she's petite, with lovely auburn hair, and always classically, elegantly dressed. Born on Ile Saint Louis, the propriétaire wishes to bring to life the island and a vie Parisienne for her guests.

The hotel has just 17 rooms, and while (in my opinion) the property is decidedly feminine, it's very poetic in the decor, inspired by the river, the landscape, the river banks, and the island's history.

The bohemian living and elegance continue downstairs or in your room, where you can partake in a locally-sourced breakfast.

The team at Hôtel des Deux Îles is very selective - the baker across the street provides fresh baguettes and crispy croissants straight out of the oven. The confitures, or jams, were hand-selected by the owner and are made by three brothers in Bretagne.

The picnic basket program is available to guests and day visitors throughout the summer. For 25€ per person, the menu includes:

  • Assortment of charcuterie from the Boucherie de l'Île

  • Selection of cheeses from Ferme Saint-Aubin

  • Salted popcorn recipe from Twinpop

  • Crunchy vegetables and their homemade sauce from Fleuryan

  • Melon and watermelon from Fleuryan

  • Fresh baked breads from Saint-Louis Bakery

  • Berthillon ice cream

If you would like to partake, they have six baskets available. Call or email their reception desk up to 5 PM the day before to order.
