Didon is a restaurant with a delicate setting offering a creative and sensitive bistronomic cuisine for sharing.

Tucked away on a side street in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Pres district of Paris, Didon’s plates and space is perfect for sharing a meal with a group of friends or family members.

Through the glass walls of the kitchen, you can observe the team at work, on the menu crated by Michel Portos, a two-starred chef (elected chef of the year in 2012 by Gault&Millau), and Francesco Cianfanelli, former chef at CoCo and Astier.

Both chefs are lovers of good products and refined plates, working together to offer delicious dishes cooked with charcoal.

Didon is a cuisine of sharing between simplicity of the raw and refinement of the haute cuisine.

The unique setting and its elegant and peaceful atmosphere in the heart of Saint-Germain des Près was brought to life by architect José Pascal, the studio Kann Design and the Atelier Kanaan. Subtle and warm decoration mixed with modern and pure lines is spread out over two levels, the upstairs overlooking either the street or views onto the kitchen below.

A rather rare feature in Paris, Didon offers dishes cooked over charcoal, which gives the recipes a lovely richness and depth of flavor. Products are chosen according to the seasons and the focus is on fresh, whole ingredients, keeping all their flavors with a light smoked note.

The team at Didon aims to satisfy all palates, also offering vegan and vegetarian dishes such as cauliflower velouté, walnut and braised green cabbage, citron and roasted shallots tartlet, with a citrus fruits & quince sauce.

To accompany your meal in the best possible way, we have called upon our friend and wine maker Stéphane Derenoncourt. He has created for Didon a magnificent wine list rich in beautiful references. Whites, rosés, reds and bubbles are offered in bottles and by the glass. All of the wines can be tasted by the glass thanks to the coravin system, ideal to enjoy a food-wine pairing.

Indeed, I fell in love with a fabulous Châteauneuf-du-Pape during our meal and begged the team to let me buy a bottle to take home. I love wine programs that add an element of discovery and surprise to the dining experience. I often feel that those moments allow you to extend the gastronomic memories and pleasures of the meal beyond the walls of the restaurant, as you can take those recipe ideas, wine regions, and influences back to your own kitchen.
