Where to Eat in Paris, Les Foodies
Like finding a needle in a haystack, Les Foodies has it all: an envious location, gorgeous & comfortable environment, genuine customer service, an affordable menu, and food that‘ll knock your socks off.
Is it possible to find the perfect restaurant? I think I might have. It’s my new home away from home. I found Les Foodies purely by accident, digging around online as I do. Tucked away on a tiny side street, Les Foodies feels immediately secret, private, and blessedly tranquil. Windows look onto a courtyard with trees and an Italian grocery store along a pedestrian street.
I first fell in love with the decor. As you step inside, you’re immediately greeted with a long bar countertop and a view straight into the large kitchen, where everything is made on-site, by hand, and super fresh. Next to the kitchen, your eye follows along a stunning bar backdrop, beautiful lighting, rich colors of mustard, royal blues, velvets, stained glass, and nooks to tuck into. The tabletops give way to ample space between each seating that invites you to sit comfortably for hours. I have « lost » entire afternoons in this restaurant.
The wine menu, cocktail list, and portions are all generous. And the price point is not to be beaten in Paris, especially for this level of quality, ingenuity - this is true culinary excellence pouring out of the kitchen. You have two choices for the appetizer, main dish, and dessert, so don’t expect a vast menu for the picky eater. The set price is 25 euros for an appetizer & main OR main and dessert.
Come with an open mind and ready to discover something new, as the kitchen turns out seasonal dishes with a flair and Inspiration from France, Italy, and Asia. Les Foodies calls themselves « a Parisian neo-bistro fusing the freshness of Mediterranean cuisine with Asian influences and the techniques of gourmet cuisine. »
It is an ideal experience for two, as you can eat your way through the menu and share bites over all the oooohs and ahhhhs that inevitably are gushed at the first bite.
The wine list is thoughtful and fair in price, with a mix of French and Italian choices. The staff pick is always spot on.
Davide Galloni leads the charge. With a beautiful background of Thai and Italian origin, Galloni combines the flavors of Asia with traditional Italian techniques.
Young and passionate, his energy is reflected in his team, who work tirelessly to deliver on every aspect of the customer experience.
Davide is constantly on the lookout for new culinary experiments. His rich culinary background brings vision to Les Foodie’s internationally-inspired cuisine; Galloni has spent the last 14 years on four continents in Mongolia, Australia, Mexico, Italy, and Spain.
If accessibility is a cornerstone of Les Foodies, then they’ve nailed it. The entire experience is friendly, approachable, comfortable, yet elevated in every detail from the cut glassware to the rich details in decor, the exquisite and unique dishes that your meal is served on, to the presentation of the food. As you pause briefly before diving in for that first bite, take note of how everything on your plate, from the edible flower, the fresh herbs, the colorful seasonings, are all expertly placed with care and beauty in mind.
After one especially long 3 1/2 hour luncheon with Eric of @AtelierToursParis, our waitress came over and crouched down by our table. In a sweet, soft voice, she asked if there was anything else we needed before the kitchen down service. I paused for a moment and then said, « A dinner reservation in three hours, please. »
