Best Strasbourg Hotels: Elegant Stays & Seasonal Tips for Alsace

Here are a few hotel options to consider in Strasbourg. For additional options, consider using a website such as Booking.com.

Tips for success

  1. SPRING

Dodging rain showers is common this time of year. Going in and out? Don’t forget that in France, the ground floor is considered level ZERO. Booking a flat up on the fifth floor? That’s SIX flights of stairs!

  2. SUMMER

Sensitive to heat? Consider booking a location with aircon. Heatwaves are common, with temperatures rocketing to over 40°c/100°f.

  3. AUTUMN

With the beautiful weather, you’ll want to throw open your doors to greet France every morning. But be careful about street-facing flats & hotel rooms. Late night bars and street sounds can keep you awake at night.

  4. WINTER

Time to bundle up! France can be very chilly in the winter. If booking a private flat, be sure that the owner doesn’t put a governor on the heat and that it has adequate facilities.

Un homme voyage pour sentir et pour vivre. A mesure qu'il voit du pays, c'est lui-même qui vaut mieux la peine d'être vu.

A man travels to feel and to live. As he sees the country, he himself is more worth seeing.

ADDITIONAL TIPS & SUGGESTIONS

A two-night, three day trip is a nice paced visit for Strasbourg and Colmar.

The first day, travel from Paris after breakfast and arrive around lunch time in Strasbourg. Check into the hotel, stroll the town during the day, and see the sights at night.

The second day you can commit entirely to Colmar with a final evening stroll through Strasbourg.

And on the third day, hit up some some of those Alsatian bakeries for the train ride home to Paris!
