Eco Paris Escapes: La Recyclerie, BelleVie Farm & RESAP Paris

Welcome to the REcyclerie, a vibrant space located in a beautifully transformed former station of the Petite Ceinture. Their mission is to inspire and engage the public in eco-responsible values, all while having fun and fostering a positive atmosphere. At the heart of their ethos are the three R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Collaborative initiatives and a do-it-yourself spirit shape every aspect of the REcyclerie design, programming, and catering offerings. Since 2014, the REcyclerie has been dedicated to raising awareness of eco-responsibility in an enjoyable and uplifting way. The urban farm encompasses various independent spaces. Explore the edible forest, witness the two composting systems in action, immerse yourself in the lush indoor plant jungle, and marvel at the bee meadow on the roof, complete with four beehives. They even have a charming chicken coop with 12 hens and 2 Indian runner ducks. And don't miss the collective vegetable garden, spanning 400m2 and featuring 150m2 of educational farming facilities right in the ground.

When it comes to food, the Café-Canteen is a haven for homemade cuisine. Prioritizing fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients while minimizing waste as much as possible the canteen was honored with the prestigious 3 ecotables label, which recognizes our commitment to reducing our environmental impact as restaurateurs and supporting our ecological transition.

Ecoconscious Travellers

Belle Vie Farm Experience

BelleVie Farm, a picturesque working farm near Disneyland Paris, offers an unforgettable experience for ecoconscious travelers seeking to reconnect with nature. Here, they believe in getting your hands dirty and immersing yourself in farm life. Instead of merely observing the cattle, you'll have the opportunity to actively participate in various activities.

Roll up your sleeves and join BelleVie in milking cows, cultivating your own fruits and vegetables, crafting delicious honey, and even baking your own bread. Their aim is to inspire visitors to embrace self-sufficiency and sustainable practices.

If you're pressed for time, don't worry! You can still enjoy a fulfilling day visit, taking part in all these enriching activities. However, many guests choose to extend their stay for a few nights, truly embracing the farm experience.

At BelleVie Farm, they invite you to embrace the beauty of nature, learn valuable skills, and create lasting memories. It's time to reconnect with the land and foster a sense of self-sufficiency.

At RESAP Paris, they embrace the concept of upcycling, a sustainable practice that gives new life to materials by transforming them into products of higher value. In this case, RESAP focuses on prolonging the life of clothing through expertise in surcycling, as it's called in French. This technique allows them to reduce the ecological footprint of clothes and give them a second chance.

When you drop off your clothes at one of the RESAP kiosks, they are collected and sent to sorting centers where they are meticulously assessed based on their type, condition, and quality. The pieces in good condition are reintroduced into the European second-hand market, making their way to thrift stores and other concepts. Those in average condition find new homes in developing countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa, where they are sold in local markets. As for the items that are no longer wearable, they are repurposed for energy recycling, serving as insulation material.

At RESAP Paris, they source raw materials directly from sorting centers. After carefully washing the clothes, RESAP deconstructs them and begins the creative process of rebuilding each piece, regardless of its initial condition. This is one of the unique aspects of upcycling, as they don't start with flat fabric like in traditional production methods. While this step may add to the production time and cost, it allows RESAP to transform each garment into a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

Skilled seamstresses then assemble the garments in the workshop located in Paris. Each piece is meticulously crafted by hand, with the intention of creating products that stand the test of time. In fact, they offer a lifetime guarantee on their products, ensuring their longevity.

Once transformed into our various models, the upcycled pieces are made available for sale on their website and in dedicated corners at Galeries Lafayette Haussman and Annecy. By choosing RESAP Paris, you not only embrace sustainable fashion but also contribute to the movement of giving new life to preloved clothing. Join their mission to make a positive impact on the environment, one upcycled garment at a time.
