French Winter Comfort Food

Au Bourguignon du Marais

In my not-so-humble opinion, this restaurant has everything one could ask for in Paris: top-notch service, fantastic quiet Marais picturesque corner just a block from the Seine, affordable prices, and a menu full of the best French classic recipes. With easy online reservations, Au Bourguignon should be at the top of your list.

A family owned and operated business, Au Bourguignon du Marais is primarily a father and son team. You will find Elie Delcher, the père, and his two fils, Jonathan and Antoine, managing daily operations. And Valérie is the maitress behind the scenes.

Elie focuses on the wine program at the restaurant. He chooses exclusively wines from great and small producers. And the menu is a mix of traditional Burgundian cuisine by Chef Thierry Blanchet, who worked for 12 years on the Orient Express.

I chat with Jonathan whenever I can. Tall and handsome, he is a gentle soul that loves to take care of every customer who walks through their doors.

The family comes from a long line of restauranteurs, including their two grandmothers. They chose Le Marais for its authenticity and preserved historical authenticity.

Au Bourguignon du Marais has been in business since 1992. "A piece of furniture from my maternal grandmother's restaurant faces the front door, I am very proud of it!" exclaims Valérie. "We are now at the head of a beautiful ship that I hope will sail for a long time!"
