  1. Where is it?

The actual address is 2 Place de la Concorde, but it”s not exactly evident where you enter. See the photo above and the arrow are pointing to an opening in the arches. You’ll also note the restaurant to the left. This is the access to Hôtel de la Marine.

  2. What to wear?

The building is climate controlled. If you chill easily, bring a sweater. Wear comfortable shoes and expect to climb up and down stairs for this tour. There are lockers for rent for small items but bags, even small ones, and suitcases are not permitted.

  3. Accessibility

There are wheelchair routes, wheelchairs and cane seats for rent, as well as baby carriers to loan. Please note: the layout of the rooms in the Intendant's apartments prevents wheelchairs wider than 70 cm from passing through. Strollers are not allowed.

  4. Food & Rest Spaces

Hôtel de la Marine does not offer food but there is a café and restaurant next door (a bit pricy!) and I have offered additional food options in this guide. The toilets are free to access, large, bright, very clean and lovely to use.

  5. When to Visit?

Hôtel de la Marine is a wonderful location to visit year round. Consider scheduling this on a day that is overly hot, to take advantage of the aircon, or a rainy day activity.

  6. How Much Time?

The Hôtel de la Marine experience can be as long or as short as you like. For those on a casual tour, I would suggest allocating two hours. For fans of history & antiques, I suggest 3-4 hours.

  7. Unique Tours

Discover the art of cooking, and the fascinating history of our heritage with a unique combined offer. Take part in a cooking demonstration led by a Le Cordon Bleu Chef, before visiting the 18th century Apartments, the state rooms and the loggia of the Hôtel de la Marine. BOOK HERE.

  8. The Collection

An astonishing project, the ENTIRE collection at Hôtel de la Marine has been catalogued and available to view online. If you saw a particular piece in my video, you can search for and learn all about it online, from the comfort of your home HERE.
